Binham Priory, North Norfolk is a magical place.
Once a large and bustling priory, a centre of prayer, learning and daily living. it was the centre of life for those who lived around it. Now it is full of shadows, light, fragments of stories and events that took place long ago. It has a timeless beauty, with hints of what was once a grand and imposing set of buildings. When you turn a corner you get a glimpse of a new vista, a new sensation.
My paintings are my representation of what I glimpse and feel on a particular visit to the Priory. Every time I visit the views differ according to the season, the light and temperature change. My response to these affects my choice of colour and composition.
